The weather has led to a lot of people being sick at the moment so I tried to get a flu shot but there are none available. Chichi came to work on Monday and as soon as she spoke I could hear the congestion. Norm popped on a face mask and drove her home. It made us both laugh when he came downstairs. I sent her home with a bag of ready made food for her dinner that evening.
Kim came this week and he trimmed the trees at the back so that I can see the corner vines where the birds come to drink and hover over the vines.

He then started the project I wanted to do on the weekend but Norm had forbade me because I am too prone to injury. I cannot use tools or weapons (chisels) without sacrificing skin. So I gave Kim guidance on where I wanted the holes and he asked me to leave him alone to do the work, fair enough I hate being watched. He called me out after he had carved and chiseled the places for the plants. How beautiful is this piece of tree?

I went around the gardens and gathered a collection of clippings and planted them in the holes he had prepared. I covered them with a bit of moss to help retain the moisture.

Here is a vid which shows the clippings better.
When I went to check on it this morning, a little lizard was sunning himself on the log. The little plants are blooming too.
I mentioned last week that we babysat for Bree on Friday evening, we parked outside their house, under a big tree. When we went into the garage on Sunday we noticed my car looked like a pterodactyl had pooped on it. That was the biggest poop ever.

We had a laugh, the previous time it was all over the windscreen right in front of Norm’s driver seat.
That afternoon Norm went on a furtive mission around the neighbourhood with some clippers. I had asked him to clip a piece of the Euphorbia tirucalli ‘Firesticks’ which is growing near the entrance of our suburb. Literally this little stick which I have put into my nursery planter.

I will keep a close eye on him. This is what the fully grown plant looks like. Gives you an idea how big the mother plant is if this is a small clipping and is this thick.

I love that he is willing to risk arrest by the local security guard (not really).
This morning I discovered I have mites on one of my plants again so I have had to isolate it. I think I will just throw the plants out it is exasperating spending so much time cleaning them and worrying about them. I am in a pottering mood so I may go propagate some little babies!
I had food in the fridge which needed cooking last Sunday so I actually cooked. We had an odd combo, layered potatoes and a packet of tikka marinated chicken breasts but no vegetables. I cooked them and decided to just serve it with some sliced cucumber and I made up some ranch dressing to go with it. The chicken was really juicy from the marinade and the freshness of the cucumber and yogurt were perfect with it. Someone on threads took the pi$$ out of the oddness of it but I don’t care, I cooked, it tasted nice and I did not waste food!

Norm cooked last night. It was bitterly cold but sunny all day. He made fillet steaks, vegetables in a cheesy sauce and potato croquettes in spinach.

I mentioned that I have booked my flight to George for Amelia’s birthday? We are all putting together to buy Amelia a proper playhouse. It is being made up for her and it will be there for her birthday. Lily found an adorable table and chairs set on Facebook Marketplace and I bought them for the little house. The need a little TLC but they were a good price.

Norman also booked my flights to go see my mom for the holidays. I have booked our dog sitter too so that I do not have that hanging over me.
Poppy is such a funny little thing, she spends all day at my feet but she loves to play and run. Her favourite is for Finn to chase her but he is not a puppy any longer and can’t be bothered most of the time.
Luckily they also have plenty of chill.
I love watching the birds at the feeders and the lizards parkouring around the gardens.
Yesterday I was out for an errand and I finally popped into Tanya Seeber to have a look at eyeglass frames. I usually post the top 3 or 4 choices on Facebook and ask everyone for their input and opinion. This time I decided I did not care, I wanted what I wanted. I picked 2 pair, one is green and they are going to see if they are available in black and if so get them sent to the store. If they only come in green, this is my second choice.

I came home and posted the photo and someone said that they hide my eyebrows. Is that a rule about glasses? I have so few eyebrows it will not take much to hide them. But it made me feel some type of way about them. My love of them dimmed a bit.
I came home and looked it up. According to Google (which is some form of AI) The Brow Rule: Your glasses should sit just below your eyebrows, following the natural curve of your brow line without obscuring them.
Then I wondered why I let it upset me what someone else thought? If I like them that should be enough. Then I opened my daily meditation and it said:

Basically it reminded me that nothing has any meaning except that which we give it. It is easier said than done to just not give a damn, usually I am pretty good at it.
Today was my son Trevor’s 40th birthday. It is hard to believe I have a 40 year old son. I just remember this little face.

He is such a wonderful human, he is kind and caring. He is incredibly intelligent but very humble. I am so proud of how he lives his life and the person he is. He is very fit, he is a surfer. He turned his life around with the sea.

I will not be in George for his party tonight but I will see him next month when I go down for Amelia’s birthday. Both Amelia and Bree sent a very funny Happy Birthday Uncle Trevor message via our family group. It just reminds me again how blessed I am with my children and grandchildren. My focus should remain on that.
Until next time, Kisses from the Kitten xoxoxoxo
