This week our internet died and I had 2 meetings booked to present the document I have put together so far for my client. I managed to bungle through the first one without being able to hear anyone, but the second was with senior management and the internet died completely and tossed me out of MS Teams making me feel like an eejit. It also meant I had to deliver my document early as a draft since I could not walk them through it. I have had no feedback so either they had no time to consume it or they are happy with it so far.
Eventually Norm figured out our connectivity issue was the router, not the supplier. It would have been more efficient had the supplier responded to the service call saying they deemed it to be the router instead of Norm having to contact them again and therefore waste a whole day waiting on them to get back to us. I was pretty much incommunicado for days which meant I got a lot done! I have made good progress and have ended the week with some brilliant news so ultimately all is good in Lisa Land. It was just a hair raising journey getting here.
I then spent hours on Friday afternoon with the helpdesk trying to sort my client site access to the Data Warehouse. It is the only gap I have left to analyse to add to my doc.
You know how when you buy a new car, you suddenly see the same car in the same colour everywhere you go? Maybe that is the same thing with lizards? Or maybe they know I am safe and allow me to see them? That is sort of a joke, sort of not……
I saw one leap across some flowers and then dart up a tree. He was a biggish one so I saw a actual black flash as he cleared the row of purple flowers. I sat and watched him for ages.
They often duel on the wall.
Whenever I spot the tiny ones I love watching them as they seem too small to even exist.
The weather has been chilly all week so I am not spending as much time outside as usual. I do spend at least a portion of every day outside, especially at sunset.
A friend sent this video below to me and I identified with it so much! I speak to the plants and the trees all of the time. I speak to the insects, lizards and birds. If it is very hot I ask the wind spirits to please bring us cool breezes to help and if the wind is blowing crazy mad then I ask it to calm down. Often the response is instant, the universe wants to please us, especially when we show gratitude for the responses. So many people never even acknowledge these miracles, much less show appreciation. It is just manifestation.
I manifested a tooth this morning. Last night Norm and I were saying that Poppy was rubbing at her face and had a wee bit of blood in her mouth. We decided she must be teething and discussed how odd it is that you never seem to see your pets lose a tooth, they obviously just carry on about their day. With children we have rituals around the process and reward them for their pain. Poor pups probably swallow it and it fertilises the grass. Or maybe they are barking at us and we just think they are being annoying, meanwhile they are saying ‘something fell out of my face Mom, help!!!!’.
I was sitting in bed drinking a coffee brought to me by my darling husband and playing with Poppy when she seemed to have a bit of hair in her mouth so I felt into her mouth to see what was annoying her and there was a tiny little tooth.
Another one of those little jokes from the Creator to show he is listening to me even when I am talking absolute nonsense. I had such a giggle as well as a sense of gratitude that I am heard and my needs are seen to.
I play games with Poppy all of the time, when I have treats she will sit, shake paws, high 5 and dance. But she does what she wants when she wants, but she is always amusing and adorable.
The seeds that I wrote about a few weeks ago arrived and I did not order hundreds of packets as I had worried about. I ordered an ordinary amount, they were just damned expensive. I had hoped to plant some this weekend but I am a bit busy and the weather is dreadful.
I noticed the plants I took from pots and planted into the ground are doing well. Both of them looked pretty much dead and dried up but I risked it and have been giving them loads of water.
I also went around the garden to photograph all of my air plants because of a convo I had on TikTok. I have so many healthy ones.
When Norm popped to the shops to buy the new WIFI router he picked up a little bike for the girls when they are at my house.
Then yesterday afternoon Norm came home with a tuna sub sandwich and these beauties. The colours are so lovely. He certainly knows my love languages. Food, flowers and my grandkids.
Norm and I started a new series this week on Amazon Prime called ‘The Bondsman’ with Kevin Bacon. At first Norm was going to watch it on his own as he assumed it was just a shoot em up cop type of show which is not my vibe, but I was sitting in the room and when lead character Kevin dies in the first episode it caught my attention. Much like the lizards allowing me to spot them, our Kevin can see demons that no ‘normal’ person can see. This show is nothing like what you expect, it is madness. It is gory but in a not too gross if you squint kind of way. It has a bit of country music with Kevin and the other characters singing which for me is a bonus but if demons and country music do not do it for you then give this a miss. I love this show and despite not at all believing in the concept of hell, I cannot wait for the next season. It gets 5 Kitten Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The other show I just finished is ‘Wear Whatever the F You Want‘. It is a single season and is also on Prime. I love the concept, they obviously interview the guests to get an idea of what to shop for as they are prepared with loads of the person’s ideas and the first half of the episode is the full on expression of their ‘Fantasy’ look. It is always a wee bit over the top as a fantasy usually is, who dreams about mediocrity? Then they experience a day of their life dressed this way and afterwards do a post-review of their outfit and refine the look to be more practical. Once they flesh out the look that makes them feel happy and most like themselves, they get a packed suitcase to take home full of their new items. I love fashion, I love reality TV and I love make over shows so it ticks many of the boxes. I would consider it more of a Make Into show than a Make Over show.
It is just a bit of visual calming fluff where we get to see various people in a state of transformation, culminating in the actual Butterfly emerging. One of the women said the final outfit represented ‘Her Highest Self’. She is an artist who changed careers after a mushroom trip so that phrase could have multiple meanings in her regard and makes me giggle. My fave episode is about Al, a recently transitioned man with a love of Dolly Parton. The host Stacy said that Al gave them the chance to de-gender fashion. His style icon was Harry Styles who often mixes genders in his outfits. Their collectively chosen lavender ombre fringed outfit was perfect for a Orville Peck show and regular readers know about my fixation on Orville so tickety tick. I loved that episode. I give the entire series 4 Kitten Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This morning I was at the spa for a facial and now it is pouring rain and chilly. Tomorrow is Mother’s Day so I am going to pop over to Caitlin for afternoon tea. As much as I hate driving, it is too much for her to try and squeeze a visit in to Bree’s schedule with driving here and back. It is also easier than hauling their whole house here for a few hours.
The next day (the 12th) is Caitlin’s birthday so I contacted an aesthetician Caitlin chose and did a cash transfer and they made up a voucher for Cait so she can choose what she wishes to have done. We try to give practical gifts or experiences. I gave Lily a massage for hers. It is nice to have something as a gift that you would not usually pay for yourself.
My Mom is much better so thank you for your prayers. I get very worried about her sometimes when she sounds low! None of us have been able to get hold of her with the time difference but we hear from others that she is doing well. Hopefully I can get hold of her on Mother’s Day!
Until next time, Kisses from the Kitten xoxoxoxox
