Adjustment of Intentions

I cannot believe that we are mid-January already and that I have now been back at the client for a full week. I had my contract extended another 6 months and I am really happy about that, I adore this client. I would be delighted to stay until I retire at 65 in a few short years.

One thing I like to do at the start of a new year is set my intentions for that year. This is something we were taught when I studied The Path of the White Wolf with Tass Two Crows Flying and I have experienced the success of it. I adjust my intentions board regularly if I find something is coming at me too quickly or too frequently or if it is slightly skewed due to not being specific enough. I only made a few adjustments from last year’s board which I wrote about here. You may see that I left off the things which may have already happened, Caitlin and Wes’s honeymoon, me studying The Path of the White Wolf course, but I left in ‘learning’ as I attempt to do that constantly. I took out travel because I am happy to go nowhere for now, I am tired and need a rest after this whirlwind of a life over the last month. I may focus on somewhere specific like Bali for a relative’s wedding or just for laughs. But we go to the US for the holidays every year and that and my quick flips to visit Millie will do me.

I also added some things: ‘prayer’ as it makes my day go so much better if my day starts with a prayer and if I say thanks at the end of the night. I also added a note about self acceptance, loving myself and intimacy, in this instance intimacy almost means authenticity and is not exclusive to your sexual relationships. These are all things I am focusing on this year as well as new floors downstairs and replacing the windows at the back of the house and then painting the whole house outside and downstairs.

For the floors downstairs we have decided on concrete screed. This is the link to the flooring examples so let me know what colour you fancy? I am torn between ‘Cream Buff’ and ‘Cool Grey’. Grey would match upstairs better, the carpet in the lounge and is the colour we are painting the walls downstairs (to match upstairs). But I think the buff will go better with the cream coloured kitchen cabinets and the red couches and furniture.

I kept in the health focused intentions as well as my desire to do drumming. Re wealth, Norm has been doing well with contracts as have I so I will keep that as it is.

I started back to work on Monday and there were a lot of people still on leave and my interfaces are under control so all I do is a bit of analysis every day just to spot check things are on track.

Lily, Josh and Amelia Ray arrived on Tuesday afternoon and it was unbearably hot and everyone was tired and grumpy until they cooled off, had a drink and or some food.

Millie had been crying since Somerset West, but once she settled she was back to herself. Little Millie is just the most smiley baby in the world. She was fascinated by the dogs and cats and her and Finn seemed to have a mutual admiration agreement and sat looking at each other a lot.

That night I started cooking the ham in the crock pot. I filled the pot with coke, a dash of chicken stock and a tin of pineapple slices in juice. I let it cook overnight and turned it off the next morning.

I also cooked 2 pans of cornbread in preparation for making the cornbread dressing. We made one pan of dressing with onions and one without onions for Lily and Josh.

The next morning we got up and started doing the prep, aka chopping things. I used shortcuts where possible: I bought the cake and the milk tart, we used Woolworths frozen roast potatoes and just threw them in with the chicken when we roasted it.

We cooked sweet carrots, brussels sprouts, the roast potatoes, little pork chipolatas, a roast chicken, a broccoli casserole, a ton of gravy, and the dressing to go with the beautifully sweet ham.

We only had 2 disasters, we did not strain the boiled potatoes before mashing so they were just soup. The other was that the brussels sprouts were overcooked and since I had sliced them thinly they turned to mush. They were somehow also very spicy. So, spicy mush. Also the olive oil and coconut oil both seemed a bit off so I avoided it where possible and we did not die.

We all feasted like piglets and waddled off to the sofas to chill out and open presents afterwards, then it was quite quickly time for Amelia to go to sleep.

We had a lovely swim on Thursday as it was insanely hot. Millie has a little raft she sits in and she does not seem to mind the icy cold water at all.

It was so hot we all went in the pool with her and all had a paddle about. I had just washed my hair that morning so I kept it up and only sat on the steps with the water up to my neck. The girls had another swim on Friday but I stayed inside where it was a bit cooler.

It was Caitlin and Wes’ anniversary on Friday so after spending the afternoon with us Caitlin headed home for dinner with Wes. Josh, Lily and I ordered in Chinese food as we fancied a change from leftovers.

Lily and Josh were up and off this morning as they are meeting Chelsea in Somerset West on their way home. I have a friend popping in this afternoon. Next week I am back at work.

I hope you all have a lovely week ahead. Kisses from the Kitten x0x0x0x0x0
